Now whether you’re a frequent visitor to my blog site, and/or an actual paying
client, I’m sure you’ve heard me say on more than one occasion “Sports Betting
is a grind”. This, is a 100% fact of life!

Another mantra of mine, is when I say the following” “I like to take the word
Gamble out of Gambling”. My greatest strength as a professional sports bettor
lies with the fact that I “know how to hedge”. Another one of my great strengths,
is knowing which games I think will “Middle”!

And by simply looking at the two bets (below this little rant); you’ll plainly
see precisely what I’m referring to. And tomorrow afternoon’s game between Texas A&M/Georgia, I will indeed make a profit (of a bare minimum $220), and I could potentially prosper to the tune of +$5,600.00. All I need for this to happen, is for Georgia to win by 12 or less, or in other words…A (12) POINT SAFETY NET!!!!

I realize how arrogant I come off sometimes, when I say things like “If you’re
not paying me; than you’re just losing on your own!” But, I do this intentionally,
in an effort to make one realize just how easy life can be, if you’re willing to
let me do the brain work for you!

For the record… there are 24 bowl games remaining, and of the 10 that are completed: The favorites have a poultry record of (4-6). And, in 10-point or better format, the favs are only (1) game better @ (5-5). This, is a trend not likely to continue over the remaining 24 bowl games.

A Semi-Free Winner for Tonight in the NBA

 

As a very basic rule of thumb, I don’t involve myself in any NBA games until after everybody’s played four games.

And there’s a reason for this: You see, whatever a team does within their first four games (from a Points Per Game perspective) is what they’ll do for the remainder of the season. So, after those first four games are played; I’m then able to establish a baseline (no pun intended), for each team in the NBA. Additionally (again, the basic rule of thumb), most teams only improve by about 5 to 6% from this establish baseline, from game 5 all the way through game 82, if at all.

Below, is a pretty wonderful example of what I’m talking about. The Sacramento Kings averaged precisely 101 points over their first four games. And in their last five, they’ve gone onto average 108. Now, a 6% improvement from 101 would be just under 108….SHOCKING!!!!

Now, let’s take their opponent for tonight, the Chicago Bulls: The Bulls started their first  four games on an average PPG of 88 points per game. And over the last five, they’ve had a marginal  improvement up to 90 points per game. A 1.7% improvement, obviously means there’s more in the proverbial tank,
for the Bulls. Not only for tonight, but for the remainder of the season.

Kings: 101..(1-3)….108….(4-1)
 Bulls: 88..(2-2)     90….(3-2)

And tonight, versus a team like Sacramento (a team that’s really not known for their defensive prowess), I suspect the Bulls will break 90 for fun, and possibly even 100. Which means, in 3-team/8pt teaser format,  one should be in love with the over 190!!!!

There’s a very old saying in the world of gambling: “Figures don’t lie, and liars figure.” Just take a look at these two teams over their last five games? Sacramento is averaging 108 and the Bulls are averaging 90. Add those two numbers together, and you’ll reach an aggregate of 198. This happens to be the natural line/total for tonight’s contest, again, SHOCKING!!!!

In closing this blog (and for the record, it’s roughly 8 hours until tipoff), I’m feeling sort of generous, and I want to leave you with one more little tip. A huge part of my success in gambling, is my ability to “forecast”.

Allow me to show you an example of what I’m talking about. Let’s assume for the moment that I’m correct in  my assumptions, and tonight’s game goes well over the 198 total: If indeed this happens, there is a great likelihood that the Kings will have broken 100 for the sixth straight time! So, in their next game, I  will make the assumption that they won’t. And if I’m correct (about tonight’s game), then, I’m almost positive, that they will play an under in their next outing. And, it’s also safe to assume that I might be “correct” in assuming that they will not break 100, in their next contest. Agree?

The Temple Owls….8 Straight….The Mayans might be right….LOL!

In case you’re unsure what a Winner looks like.

 

We live in a very cynical World. A World that’s defined by success. Whether it be success in sports, business, personal, or life in general; the cynic, always has something bad to say.

Well, I’m not guilty of being a cynic (when it comes to the recent successes of the Temple Owls), and here are my reasons: I’m just a Realist!

A. The number one Florida Gators have an average margin of victory of 15.6 points per game (over their last eight games), and the Temple Owls (during their current eight-game winning streak) have an average margin of victory of 14.3 points per game! 

B. With (6) of the (10) teams ranked 11 thru 20 losing this weekend, and with seven honorable mention votes (garnered during last week’s top 25); I suspect that the Temple owls football program will have their first top 25 ranking in school history, with a win on Saturday.

C. This is a team that was kicked out of the Big East just two years ago. And, if they defeat Ohio U. on November 27th; they’ll find themselves playing for a Mac Conference Championship.

 

Now, here’s my version of being a cynic, or maybe just someone that truly understands the “human nature” aspects of sports betting….

 

 Saturday, the owls play a home game versus Kent State, and I believe Temple will “take a dive” (or as I like to call it); do an “ole” on Saturday, versus Kent State. You see, the more teams that “go bowling” (from ANY given conference), the more monies garnered for that conference!!! Kent State is (5-5), and in the MAC Conference you need to achieve six wins to become bowl eligible.

Yes, Kent State could beat Buffalo in their final game of the season, but as a non-conference winner @ (6-6), it’s very likely that they’ll be over-looked (by bowl committees); when these committees feel obligated to select a (6-6) teams from a better/stronger conference.

Secondly, the Temple Owls are likely to “get caught looking ahead”. Additionally, they must prepare for their virtual “Win-In Game” versus Ohio U. on short notice (only five days to prepare), after their game versus Kent State.

So, in closing this blog, I suspect that the Temple Owls will be installed as double-digit favorites (primarily because they’re at home), and due to some of the above-mentioned factors, previously mentioned.  But, I believe that they might even lose the game outright!!! So take the points (next Saturday), and laugh all the way to the proverbial bank.

p.s. If the opening line happens to come-out at 9.5 or less; that would be an incredibly EASY LINE READ, and  an obvious “Trap Line”, agree?  Chime-in and leave a comment! Personally, I see this line being set at minus 11 or 12.

A Missed 3rd Quarter FG cost me from Making 46k More!!!! Read the blog below + heading (below this one) to understand.

The above-mentioned happened during the 3rd quarter. It’s not the first time a kicker has hurt me, and it will unlikely be the last!!!!

I can remember most of my brutal beats with astonishing clarity, and this really isn’t one of them (for I still made over 13k for the day). If the missed FG would have happened with five minutes to play; that would have stung a lot more!

Does anyone remember when the former head coach of the Steelers, (Bill Cowher), who almost ran onto the field of play, on a MNF game versus the Jags?

The last-second game winning try by Pitt was blocked for a TD, and the Steelers blew the game & the cover!!! The Steelers were down by 2, and were getting 4! If the ball simply goes over the line of scrimmage; the Steelers would have covered.

Now, that, was a “BAD BEAT”!!!!  But, like I always say….

“Look what it takes to beat me!”

I NEVER LIE: An Ounce of Truth, that Will Help ALL Football Bettors

I gave ALL of my paying clients the same 4-team/13pt teaser: BC+11.5, A&M-1, UNLV+9.5, and FSU-1. Unfortunately, FSU (specifically QB Christian Ponder), played like a bunch of High School kids, instead of men and lost outright (17-7)!

But, there’s always a silver lining with me, and the proverbial glass is ALWAYS “HALF FULL”. See, at halftime the Seminoles were losing outright (14-0); as -14pt favorites. And, when I saw that FSU was ONLY LAYING (-7.5) for the 2nd half line; I instinctively “knew” that it was a TRAP, and a BEAR TRAP AT THAT! Allow me to elaborate….

 Ok, we had a -14pt fav losing outright by 14, at halftime, correct? Correct. Which means, in order for FSU to “cover” (and that wasn’t looking very likely) they would have to outscore S. Fla. by 28 points; just to cause it to be a “push”! So, in order for them to comeback and just win the game; they’re going to need to outscore them (S. Florida) by at least (14), just to tie the game, correct? Yes, that is correct!

Which now brings me to my “point”….If FSU was “supposed to win”, or at the very least cover the 2nd half line; then a line of AT LEAST (-13.5) should have been placed on FSU, for the 2nd half spread. When I saw a mere 7.5, I KNEW IT WAS A TRAP, and I called ALL of my long-standing 25%er clients and told them to “hedge-out” on S.FLA+7.5 for the 2nd half. My clients make money with me, ALWAYS!!! I’m constantly looking-out for their best interest.

 

Written Apology:

The Consummate Teacher….

I’m always trying to “teach” others how to win. I possess this innate ability, and I don’t mind sharing with others, my knowledge (hence the reason for my 23 written works).  I’m about to teach all that are reading this posting something highly intrinsic and invaluable (and to be very cognizant of ), for this upcoming (only 6 days away) College Football season.

“The Revenge Factor”

In college football (more-so than college hoops), the “revenge factor” is a great betting angle, and I’ll tell you why….

9 times out of 10 in comes down to three very simple pieces of “reasoning”.

A. Is the box score from the previous meeting at all “telling”?

B. Are the two teams the same from a personnel prospective?

C. If the answer “Yes” is derived from both questions, then, there’s only one more pertinent question that needs to be asked: Where/Who have the Oddsmakers adjusted the line in favor of?

Example: Baylor @ Wake (Game is scheduled to be played on Sept. 5th)

If you go to the following link , http://budurl.com/vrc2 you’ll see my official analysis of last year’s meeting. All You’ll need to do is scroll-down about half way. In said game, I told ALL of my paying clients that WAKE-11,  should have been laying -20 minimum and that laying the -11 would be like stealin” money! Well, I was correct, for the final score was (41-13)!

Back on point: This Year’s Meeting

After disecting the score from last year’s game; three items became abundantly clear as to “why” Wake has onlt been installed as a mere (-2) point favorite.

First, Baylor went 2 of 12 on 3rd down conversions!

Secondly, they had a true freshman QB (try to remember this name, for he’s going to be a Heisman Trophy canidate in 2010/2011), ROBERT GRIFFIN, come in “in releif” of the original starter, and his final numbers wern’t bad, in going 11 of 19. And after a much closer analysis of young Mr. Griffin; I noticed something even more “telling”…..In Every Game that his QB Rating was 90 or higher, the Baylor Bears either WON or COVERED….(8-3) Against the Spread!!!!

Finally, Wake won the proverbial “turnover battle” (5-2)!!!! The team that “wins that battle” (in the NFL) usually wins about 90% of the time. In College, in isn’t quite so staggering, it’s only about 77%!!!!

In closing, the question must be asked: Why (if both teams are basically the same from a personnel standpoint) is the point spread down 9-full points, and Wake is at home instead of on the road???

Well, I’ve already explained most of the “reasons why”, but now I’m going to add a few intangibles to this contest, for you to ponder…

***Robert Griffin is a taller/faster and now “bigger” version of a young Michael Vick (from the days when Vick was at V.T.)!!!***

***At ALL times, Robert Griffin WILL BE THE FASTEST MAN ON THE FIELD!***

***Furthermore, he is accurate (as a passer, and it’s not just about his feet/speed), last season, he completed almost 60% of his throws!!! That’s AMAZING for a “happy-footed” QB, who is now a much better version of himself….SCARY!!!!

And for the record…..I’m ALL OVER Baylor+15 as one of my first 4-team/13pt teaser bets, on opening weekend!

Me and My 152IQ/Generosity….

As a so bluntly put it in my baseball betting book “Betting Baseball 09″….”Sweeps don’t happen!”  There were five teams (yesterday) that were in a position to sweep, and the only one that came through was the Minnesota Twins. Which means, that if you purchased that book(“Betting Baseball 09″)  http://budurl.com/2gza , then, you should have gone (4-1) yesterday!

See, “sweeps” only occur about 19 to 27 percent,  per month, for the entire MLB regular season. Believe me; I debated long & hard as to whether or not I was going to add that little nugget of information to that book. But I did, because, I’m truly trying to help others WIN! It’s like the immortal Vince Lombardi was once quoted as saying….“Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.”

Well, I have a very similar mantra, and it goes like this: “Winner’s WIN, and Loser’s LOSE!”
