I have a lot on my mind at the moment, and if this blog has the feel of being
all over the place, I apologize.
First order of business: Last night’s World Series, game two.
Now I can’t remember if I wrote the blog @ www.thetuttleway.com or on this one. But, I’m definitely adding the following angle to my follow-up best-selling baseball betting book “betting baseball ‘09″ (currently selling on Amazon.com).
The angle that I’m referring to is when a .500 or above team… Loses loses the night before by four runs or more, and they find themselves playing that same team the next day, or a lessor team, in game one of a new series.
Now in game one of the World Series, the Yankees lost 6-1. That would certainly meet the above-mentioned criteria! Game two: Yankees win by a final score of 3-1, and couldn’t have looked any better in doing so.
And in closing on this topic; you might want to look up the blog I wrote about three months ago (here, within this blog), IN REFERENCE TO THE YANKEES WINNING IT ALL!!!!
Now onto some much juicier stuff….
Yes Virginia Tech fell apart, and my free 4-Teamer that I posted, is now a loser. But, for all my paying clients (namely my long-standing 25%ers), I told them about an epiphany that I had a few weeks ago, when Purdue beat Ohio State.
You see, Ohio State was installed as a 13.5 point favorite that day and it
was an early game.
So here was the epiphany that I had; when I realized Ohio State was about to go down to Purdue: I said “self”… ”We could have wagered on Purdue @ +600, or 6 to 1 odds, and been completely covered from such a debacle!!!
So with that being said: I told my players to hedge-out on NC @ +750!
Now at a place like sportsinteraction, you can bet a 4-teamer @ (-145), but get 13.5 points per selection. And, because I chose to use this Thursday night debacle (and because I thought it had the best chance of losing), it helped make the decision to use North Carolina on the Moneyline (as a hedge) that much easier.
Hypothetically speaking, let’s say you’re a client of mine, and you wagered 290 to win 200 on my teaser bet. At +750 (North Carolina Moneyline), how much would you have to wager to make a small profit?
The answer: A mere $40 or $50!!!
$40 = $300, and $50 = $375. Imagine, 50 bucks giving you complete peace of mind on the outcome of a football game, prior to its start time!?
Finally, I gave some of my paying clients the under 44. And the (7-0) half-time score created a very juicy 16-point “middle”. Now if you’re not quite sure what I’m talking about, allow me to elaborate.
With the score being 7-0 at halftime (on a 44 game total, at closing). That meant, that in order for the game to go over; they would have need to score (38) second-half points. Not likely, agreed?
But, the second-half total was only 20. Which means, that from 21 to 36 total points could have been scored in the second half, and the under 44 for the game line, would still be a winner!
Well, I also told some of my paying clients to do just that: Play the over 20, for the second half /tot-line. And the last I checked; (3-1) nights are not a bad thing!!! Especially, when a meager 50 dollar wager; canceled-out the one loser.
